between two lungs

Florence + the Machine are an English band formed in 2007 who cross a variety of genres - their music may be described as indie pop/rock, but take inspiration from a variety of genres. The band is made up of Florence Welch (lead vocals), Isabella Summers (keyboard, backing vocals), Robert Ackroyd (guitar), Mark Saunders (bass guitar), Chris Hayden (drums) and Tom Monger (harp). The name of the band stems from a private joke between Welch and Summers when they were making music together as teenagers. They are known for Welch's powerful and emotive vocals, and their music is combined with a unique aesthetic in their visuals - most recently seen in The How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful Odyssey (viewable at the official site).
